Birthdays remembered

In honor of BIG B-day numero 16 for Trevor, here's 16 things we love about our February baby:
1) We love your smiles, the ready ones when you were two and the elusive teenage ones we have to chase after.
2.We love those curls, that unfortunately you crop for wrestling
2. We love the way you have a tender heart for all creatures: cats, lizards, turtles and butterflies on their last flight.
3. We love your expressive eyes that tell a thousand tales without saying a word
4. We love the way you have continued to put on your church clothes week after week, despite few hours of sleep and sore muscles from sporting events, and go to seminary despite the language barrier and early hour.

5. We love your sense of adventure: whether it's to try new food, explore new places or modes of transportations, like riding elephants.

6. We love your musical talents on the clarinet, guitar and piano
7. We love that your are willing to continue developing your talents despite siblings breaking strings, old reeds, sticking finger pads or out of tune pianos

8. We love that you are a agile mountain goat and never complain on a hike, no matter how steep, hot or challenging.
9.We love that you enjoy the journey long before you reach the destination .

10. We love your fascination and fluid ease with water: canoeing, swimming, scuba diving and even water balloons

11. We love the happy boy in you that finds joy in simple things

12. We love your sense of fun whether it's games, jokes or food fights.

13.We love that you are tough enough to be the "pack-mule" on every trip and carry all the water, maps, and snacks without a second thought.
14. We love that you are kind to your siblings and such a great example to them
15. We love the sweet tempered, unflappable, adaptable, intelligent young man you are growing up to be.
16 And most of all, we LOVE YOU!
When I was expecting you Trevor, my mom said to me "The true test of my parenting skills won't be apparent until your children grow up Katherine." I never really understood that completely until now. I just read the book "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle," and the family bred and raised "the next generation of dogs." They couldn't detect if the best traits of the dog parents, like knowing, obedience and kindness were passed on, until their posterity, their grandchildren were grown up. Well, your Grandma can rest assured that she was effective, because you have inherited her best traits: a willingness to work hard, the ability to persevere despite insurmountable barriers, a gift with animals and love of the Savior. We are so proud of you. And I know that all your ancestors look on and agree and find great pleasure in you, their posterity.

Oh, I love all the pics of Trevor. I see the younger Trevor and think of our dancing days in the living room having so much fun. He's such a handsome young man now. Time goes by too fast.

It does go by way too fast! That's one of Trevor's happy memories "flippies" in the front room with Heidi-Ho

I remember Trevor as a Tiger Scout. Always a sweet kid looking out for others. You have raised a great young man! Happy Birthday Trevor.
