Fund Raisers, fairs and fun

In this 4th fund raiser for his Eagle Project, Trevor filled a jar with 1443 Skittles
and sold tickets for a Euro a guess.
He earned a 160 Euro towards the AED he will be purchasing for his Project.

The boy on the right, a Jewish young man named Guy was only two skittles off and was thrilled to win the jar of American candy. His friends were more than willing to help him eat through the sweets.

The next phase of the fund raiser was for the annual Mayfair carnival for Boy Scout Troop 236
Trevor has been team leader for building this bridge for the past 4 years.

This year Trevor got some guidance from Colonel Mahaney in the Army
These were some of the nicest, neatest knots I've ever seen.
The Colonel had lots of practice over the years making these bridges to span rivers.
The Colonel made sure to talk up Army and poo poo Air Force as he instructed Trevor :0)

I love this tightening of the ropes with the boys throwing in all their weight and arm strength.

Five hours later Trevor had to take the whole thing down. It was a successful day (they earned money for the troop) and thankfully did not rain! It has been raining almost nonstop since December and we feel like we are growing webbed feet.
Now if we can just have the same luck and have sun this weekend for his next fundraiser: a carwash/ rummage sale at the embassy.

Trevor spent this weekend building recycle bins for another Eagle Scout Nik Lal that goes to another school. Hopefully by June they will both have completed their projects-- we can only hope!

I'll give you a project if you need one. It involves cleaning up hazardous waste from a Great Dane. It would be a great service for us!

Those knots are beautiful, how neat is that, to have a professional help. What a great experience!
